How the extension works
Bookmarks Quick Search Plus operates entirely within your browser. The extension reads your bookmarks locally using the Chrome bookmarks API so it can display and search them inside the popup. Your bookmarks are never uploaded, synced to remote servers, or shared with anyone.
Permissions
The extension requests only the minimum permissions required to function:
- bookmarks — Required to read your saved bookmarks and display search results.
- tabs — Used to open selected bookmarks in the current tab or a new tab, based on your settings.
- storage — Stores your local preferences and settings (such as theme, search behavior, and how bookmarks are opened) on your device only.
- contextMenus — Adds a custom context menu item when you right-click the extension icon.
- favicon — Securely retrieves website icons from your browser to display next to search results.
Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer any data to third parties. The extension does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking scripts, or remote services.
